So today was different. I did a lot of things right but I fell off the wagon in others. Again, I didn't overeat but certainly didn't undereat either. Here's a rundown of today.
I was determined to get up early to make tomorrow morning easier when I HAVE to get up early. However, that plan went right out of the window. But I did get up and workout and that's what is really important. I did Just Dance again and loved it again. What a lot of great dances to entertaining songs! Also, I was able to spend more time doing the dances and sweated ALOT!
My eating habits weren't great but I did better than normal. It's really hard to not eat food that is right in front of you. I went out to dinner with friends and they ordered an appetizer. I had one potato skin! They were so good but I'm sure chock full of calories and carbs. Ugh! Then, I had two french fries off of someone's plate. Why couldn't I keep my hands to myself???? I also snacked on nuts today way too frequently. I think tomorrow will be easier because I can't snack as easy AND I will be very busy. Thank goodness!
I got an unexpected request today. A friend of mine asked me to invite her daughter to do the Made to Crave bible study with me. Certainly wasn't expecting that one! So I invited her and a lot of the girls that have graduated from high school to do this with me. I'm not sure if I went about it the right way or if there were other girls I should have invited. However, it's done now, so I will wait and see what God has in store for me in this area.
So here's what else I did today:
* Lesson plans...more about this tomorrow.
* Drank plenty of water.
* One load of laundry
* Ran and unloaded the dishwasher
* Got my things together for school
Goals for tomorrow:
* Get up early to exercise
* Study Spanish
* Modify lesson plans
* Start on receipts (little piles each day)
Keep on praying! See you tomorrow!

A Good Start: 01-02-12
Did you expect anything less? The first day of resolutions is generally pretty good. Here is what I accomplished:
* Against all of my better instincts, I weighed myself today. It could have been much worse: 186.5.
* I started the day exercising to Just Dance 3 and thoroughly would have embarrassed myself if someone had been watching or, God forbid, video recording. My fav so far: Cee Lo Green's "Forget You."
1) The Clutter Free Challenge - this doesn't require me buying a book or anything. This is a three-week program that Glynnis Whitwer will be leading based on her book, I Used to be So Organized. However all of the advice and tips and projects will be given in her blog. Check it out.
2) Made to Crave - This is a 6-week Bible study. It is supposed to be about how we crave food and we really should be craving God. The book costs $14.95 at Family Christian (there's a coupon for 25-30% off on their website). However, I found it as an eBook for my Nook for $3.95. I'm so excited that I found it so cheap that I am taking this as a sign from God to do this study!! You can sign up for this study at the above link. Hope you can join me!
* I also spent some time today doing laundry and I even washed my sheets. NEWS FLASH: I hate changing the sheets! So it was a big deal when I decided to wash the sheets and put clean sheets on my bed. So I deserve a huge round of applause
* I cleaned my kitchen which was relatively clean already but just needed some sprucing up.
* I worked on my Spanish.
* I made a schedule for music at church for the next season.
* I tried to control my portions today and did pretty well. By dinner time, my brain was telling my stomach that I was really hungry. Therefore, my leftovers from Saturday night seemed pretty meager. As a consequence, I was still hungry after I ate and unfortunately had a bowl of cereal to tide me over. I don't feel like I overate but I still felt guilty. My goal for this first week is just to control my portions and be more aware of what I eat. Next week I am going to try to start changing my diet but I thought for this week, I would just try to get in the mode of "being aware."
* I threw away all of the Christmas cookies!
Give it up for me! Pray for me that I can do it even better tomorrow.

First Day of the Rest of My Life
Um, yikes! I think maybe the title I chose for this post is a little too grand for what I'm about to do. Each day I will post to my blog a list of things that I am doing to improve my life. These things will include eating better, exercising, and taking vitamins but it will also cover things like finances, cleaning, cooking, organizing. My goals also include taking better care of myself by getting a good night's sleep and taking care of my spiritual self, too. I will post pictures, lists and links that I am using to help me experience The Examined Life in a better way.
So here I go. Keep me in your prayers!
